Tree Plantation New Generation Service

Tree Plantation

The *Interact Club of Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 40-C, Chandigarh* , organized a Plantation Drive on July 13, 2026 to celebrate Environment Day and commemorate the recently concluded *Van Mahotsav Week*. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about environmental conservation and inspire students to actively participate in creating a greener and healthier planet. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and members of the Interact Club. Saplings of various native and ornamental plants were planted within the school campus, symbolizing the collective commitment towards protecting the environment. The participants also pledged to nurture the saplings and contribute to maintaining a clean and green ecosystem. The plantation drive served as a meaningful reminder that every individual can make a positive impact on the environment through small but consistent efforts. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all the participants for their wholehearted support in making the initiative a success. "Plant a Tree, Nurture Life, Protect the Future."

Aaghaaz District Council Training and Karamdeeksha Leadership Training Program

*AAGHAZ*—District Officials Training Seminar **KRAMDEEKSHA*—Presidents' and Secretaries' Learning Experience. The two-day leadership training series, comprising the District Officials Training Seminar – Aaghaaz and the Presidents' and Secretaries' Learning Experience – Karamdeeksha, was organized to prepare the leadership of Rotaract District 3080 for the Rotary International Year 2026–27. The initiative aimed to equip District Officials, Club Presidents, and Club Secretaries with the knowledge, clarity, and confidence required to lead their respective roles effectively while fostering a shared vision for the year ahead. This initiative was undertaken by *Zone 8* and hosted by the Rotary Club of Chandigarh in collaboration with the Rotary Clubs, whose support and commitment were instrumental in the successful execution of both events. Event was co hosted by Rotaract club chandigarh and Rotaract club of open hands. The sessions were graced by District Rotaract Representative PHF Rtr. Dr. Manu Gupta, Immediate Past District Rotaract Representative Rtr. Ritik Nagpal, RSA MDIO President Rtn. Rtr. Arun Teja Godavarthi, Assistant Governor (Zone 8) Rtn. Manjit Kaur, District Ryla Chair PP Rtn. Anil Chadha, President Rotary Chandigarh Uptown Rtn. Hari Om Verma, Secretary Rotary Chandigarh Rtn. Shabana Azam and President Rotary Club Chandigarh Rtn.Teena Virk, Rtn. Kawalpreet Judge, along with several esteemed Rotarians from RID 3080. The keynote training sessions were delivered by Rtn. Rtr. Tansen Pandi from RID 3150 and RSA MDIO President Rtn. Rtr. Arun Teja Godavarthi, whose presence and guidance inspired participants to embrace leadership with dedication, accountability, and a service-oriented mindset. A dedicated question-and-answer session during both events allowed participants to seek guidance on leadership challenges, event planning, reporting, club engagement, and district operations. The queries were addressed collectively by Rtn. Rtr. Tansen Pandi, Rtn. Rtr. Arun Teja Godavarthi, providing practical guidance and valuable perspectives from their leadership experiences. Adding a personal touch to the learning experience, participants shared memorable moments from their Rotaract journeys, fostering stronger bonds, mutual learning, and a deeper commitment to the district's vision. The two-day training series concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing the enthusiasm and commitment of all participants. Together, Aaghaaz and Karamdeeksha successfully laid a strong foundation for the Rotary International Year 2026–27 by strengthening leadership, promoting collaboration, and ensuring that District Officials, Presidents, and Secretaries are well-prepared to serve their clubs and the district with excellence.

Blood Donation Camp

Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Date: 10th July 2026 A voluntary blood donation camp was organized by Harbir Automobiles in association with Rotary Club Chandigarh at Industrial Area, phase 1, Chandigarh. A total of 70 volunteers came to donate and 56 donated blood donations were accepted during the camp, contributing towards saving precious lives and strengthening the blood supply for patients in need. All blood donors were honoured with gifts, generously sponsored by the Rotary Club Chandigarh. A special note of gratitude to Rtn. Prem Mehandru Ji for his dedicated efforts in successfully organizing this blood donation camp. The camp was attended by Director Club Service Prem Mahindru, Director Community Service Arun Aggarwal, Rotary Ann Seema Mahindru and President Teena Virk.

Visit to old age home Community Service

Visit to old age home

A Visit to Old Age Home Sec 15 Rotary Club Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club Chandigarh, organized a visit to the Old Age Home, Sector 15, with the aim of spreading joy and promoting mental well-being among the residents. The event commenced with the distribution of refreshments, including samosas, lassi, and biscuits, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere. This was followed by a mental health engagement session designed to encourage relaxation, self-expression, and social interaction. As part of the activity, the residents participated in a painting session where they expressed their thoughts and emotions through art. The event concluded with a lively jamming session filled with music, singing, and shared moments of happiness, bringing smiles to everyone present. The visit served as a heartfelt reminder of the importance of compassion and companionship. Rotaract Club Chandigarh President Roodransh, Secretary Kudrat and Rotaractor Manisha were accompanied by Rotarians Deepak Sood, Rotary Ann Purnima, Director Community Service Arun Aggarwal, Secretary Shabana, Rtn. Eye check up camp

On 4th of July, Rotary Club Chandigarh in collaboration with Guru Ka Langar Eye Hospital, held an eye check up camp at Government Model Senior Secondary School in 38 west, Chandigarh. —Total 127 students from class 5 to 12th and some staff members went through eye check up. —Free eye drops were given to 37 children requiring them. —12 children were advised further advanced treatment in hospital. —2 children received free eye glasses. Rtn. Arun Aggarwal, Director Community Service, organised the initiative attended by Rtn.Teena Virk and Rtn. Manmohan Luthra.

At Bal Bahar Creche many little children of working mothers from economically weak section of society are looked after. Teena Virk and granddaughter Sahiba reached to children singing rhymes. Rtn. Sunila has been involved for many years in this project and had great inputs to give. Ruchi Singla, Chair Bal Bahar has worked out all details and plans to have one member visiting this Creche everyday. Biscuits and cake slices were distributed in the August company of Usha Sabooji, Kiranji and Maj. BM Singhji.

Sharing joy with children

Vidya Sadan had classroom full of children studying. Computers is being taught and learnt with passion. Beauty classes are in full swing. Little children sang, recited rhymes and gave a beautiful recitation in English. Cake slices and Oreo biscuits were distributed amongst the children, the young girls and all the staff. Rtn. Sony Goel, Chair Vidya Sadan, Shabana Azam, Sunila Garg, Teena and grand daughter Sahiba enjoyed with everyone and made plans to help children excel in studies or some vocation.

TB Eradication

40 TB patients were given nutritional diet at Civil Hospital, Manimajra on the 2nd of July 2026 in the presence of Dr. Shekhar from the TB office at sector 16 hospital, Chandigarh. While discussing future plans it was decided to have a much more inclusive responsibility towards the TB patients and their families. Much more to be organised besides nutritional diets. Annpurna

A fabulous langar sewa under the bridge in sector 17, Chandigarh. It consisted of rice, karhi, Potatoe curry, chappati and halwa. Nearly 450 people enjoyed the sewa. It was a pleasure to have Rotarians Arun Aggarwal, Shabana Azam, Teena Virk, Amit Jain, Rosy and Jatinder Kapoorji join the langar and serve with all humility. Rotaractors from Rotaract Chandigarh with their president Roodransh came to support their parent club Rotary Chandigarh. Grateful to Ravi Virk for the arrangement.

Blood Donation Camp

A blood donation camp arranged at Tanishq Jwellery of PP Vinod Kapoorji. Amongst delicious cups of coffee and snacks 30 people came to donate. Despite the incessant rain a stream of Rotarians came to wish best of luck to the incoming team. Grateful for the presence of Rotarians Vinod Kapoorji, Rekhaji, Nidhi Kapoor, Teena Virk, Dr. Manish Rai, Rosy Katyal, Arun Aggarwal, Shabana Azam, Amit Jain, Jaspal Sidhu,Manmohan Luthra, AP Singh, Alok Batra, Atul Gandhi, Hassan Mejie, Maj. BM Singh, Kiran Singh, Jatinder Kapoorji and Manmohan Kohliji It was a pleasure to meet and have participation of an old club member Abhinav Chaudhry. He has shifted back to Chandigarh after years of work in Mumbai. All blood donors received a specially designed mug with Rotary Chandigarh insignia as a thank you gift.
